Description
This program provides instruction in how to assist the pharmacist in the packing and distribution of medication. Graduates can find employment in hospitals (private and government), nursing care facilities, private and chain drug stores, drug manufacturers, wholesale drug houses and health maintenance organizations. Students will also study the professional and technical skills necessary for direct employment as a pharmacy technician.
Objectives
This program prepares students for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician. The courses will provide the basic health care skills students can use as pharmacy technicians.
Admission Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Pass the entrance examination
- Background check and drug screening where applicable

To receive a Diploma in Pharmacy Technology, students must complete 39.0 credit hours (1120 instructional clock hours). This diploma program can be completed in 10 months for full-time students or in 18 months for part-time students.
