Miami Lakes, FL – The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at the Miami Lakes campus will offer free ultrasounds to the public in the afternoons and some evenings to pregnant women who volunteer.

The campus is located at 17395 NW 59th Avenue in Miami Lakes. Women who participate will receive a complimentary image of their fetus.

“This is an opportunity for our student to practice what they have learned about scanning and visualize the development of the fetus. For the mothers to be, it is the excitement of wanting to know how their baby is progressing and perhaps find out whether it’s a girl or a boy,” stated Julia Corona, Campus President of the Miami Lakes campus.

The Miami Lakes Campus has offered the Diagnostic Sonography program since the fall of 2014. The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology program integrates didactic, laboratory and clinical experiential learning. Sonographers are highly skilled professionals who provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy. The academic objective is to prepare competent, entry-level general sonographers.
The program is offered during the day and evening and is the program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
